National standard for explosion-proof motors

The national standards for explosion-proof motors mainly include the following:
1、 Core standards

Energy efficiency limit value standard
The Minimum Allowable Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Small and Medium sized Three phase Asynchronous Motors (GB18613-2012) is a mandatory national standard for energy efficiency of explosion-proof motors, which divides energy efficiency into levels 1, 2, and 3. Level 3 is the lowest limit value, and products below this value are prohibited from production, sale, and use.


Explosion proof performance standards

GB3836 series: suitable for explosive gas environments (such as coal mines, petrochemicals, etc.), divided into models such as dIIAT4, dIIBT4, and dIICT4, corresponding to IIA, IIB, IIC levels and T1~T4 temperature groups, respectively.

Other relevant standards, such as "Explosive Environment Equipment for Steel Ships" (GB51171), provide explosion-proof requirements for special industries (such as ships).


2、 Technical condition standards

Industry standard: including JB/T8674 (YB2 series high-voltage explosion-proof motor), JB/T10685 (YBD2 series variable pole multi speed motor), JB/T7565 (explosion-proof motor), etc., covering technical requirements for explosion-proof motors of different models and specifications.


3、 Identification and Certification

Explosion proof motors must be labeled with explosion-proof signs (such as Ex, dIIAT4, etc.) and hold an explosion-proof production license to ensure compliance with national standards.


4、 Implementation and Promotion

The state encourages enterprises to adopt high-efficiency explosion-proof motors (such as meeting GB18613-2012 Level 2 energy efficiency) to promote energy conservation and emission reduction.
