Why is the motor buzzing and not turning

Common causes of motor buzzing and not turning include power supply issues, mechanical faults, winding and circuit faults, overheating protection, and installation problems.

Why is the motor buzzing and not turning

The common reasons and solutions for the motor buzzing and not turning are as follows:

1、 Power issue

Single phase operation: Check if the power cord is damaged or wired incorrectly to ensure that the three-phase power supply is properly connected.

Voltage abnormality: Low or high voltage may cause the motor to fail to start, and power stability needs to be checked.

Starting capacitor fault: Check if the capacitor is leaking or short circuited, and replace it if damaged.

2、 Mechanical malfunction

Bearing issue: Bearing wear or poor lubrication can cause operation to stall, and the bearings need to be cleaned or replaced.

Rotor stuck: Check if the rotor is blocked by foreign objects or if the mechanical structure is damaged, and it needs to be disassembled and cleaned.

Overloaded: Unload some of the load, reduce the motor load, and try again.

3、 Winding and line faults

Winding short circuit/open circuit: Check whether the stator winding is short circuited or disconnected, and dismantle the machine for maintenance.

Wiring error: recalibrate the three-phase wiring sequence to avoid incorrect initial connections.

4、 Other reasons

Overheating protection: If the motor overheats, the protection mechanism will be triggered to stop running. It needs to cool down and retry.

Installation issue: Check if the motor installation is too tight or loose, and adjust the fixing method.

Suggestion for handling: Prioritize checking the power supply and mechanical parts. If the problem is complex, contact a professional electrician to disassemble and repair the machine. Pay attention to regular maintenance during daily use to avoid overloading operation.
