The four major categories of motors usually refer to the four core types divided by function, as follows:
generator
Convert other forms of energy (such as hydropower, fuel, etc.) into electrical energy, which is widely used in fields such as industry, agriculture, and national defense. Its working principle is based on the law of electromagnetic induction.
motor
Converting electrical energy into mechanical energy is the most commonly used type of motor in industry and daily life. According to the type of power supply, it is divided into DC motors (including brushless DC motors) and AC motors (including synchronous motors and asynchronous motors).
transformer
Used to change AC voltage, achieve voltage, current, impedance transformation, and provide electrical isolation. Mainly used for voltage regulation and stability in power systems.
