Is the rotation direction of the motor rotor the same as the rotating magnetic field?
For three-phase asynchronous motors, as long as the phase sequence of the three-phase AC power connected is determined, the direction of rotation of the motor and the direction of the rotating magnetic field are consistent. If the phase sequence is reversed, the direction of the rotating magnetic field will change, and the direction of rotor rotation will also change accordingly. The direction of rotation of the rotor of the electric motor is the same as the direction of the rotating magnetic field. When three-phase AC power is connected clockwise in the positive sequence u-v-w to the u-phase, v-phase, and w-phase windings of the motor, the direction of the magnetic field generated is also clockwise. If the phase sequence of the alternating current connected to any two-phase winding is switched, the direction of the rotating magnetic field will also change accordingly, from clockwise to counterclockwise, and the motor rotor will also reverse accordingly.
Specifically, the rotational speed of the rotating magnetic field is the synchronous speed of the motor, and the rotor speed is slightly lower than the synchronous speed, resulting in a slip rate. This slip rate enables the rotor to cut magnetic field lines, generate induced currents, and thus generate electric force, causing the rotor to rotate.
Therefore, for three-phase asynchronous motors, as long as the phase sequence of the three-phase AC power connected is determined, the direction of rotation of the motor and the direction of the rotating magnetic field are consistent.
